Descend into the Maelstrom

Hello Bill,

I watched your show for the first time on Monday, October 20.  You exceeded my expectations for bigotry, religious fanaticism, and rightward bias with your irrational support of homophobic practices by the Boy Scouts of America (which I belonged to) and your whining about Justice Scalia correctly recusing himself from a Supreme Court case.  Meanwhile your comments on the harmless erotic party in San Francisco at the end were truly great.  At least you admitted your ignorance by claiming not to understand what that party was about or why anyone would enjoy it.  Perhaps your largest problem, Bill, is that you don’t care to try to understand people who think differently than you do.  Have you ever had a conversation asking someone why they would attend such a party? You don’t know much about some of the people you attack.  "Fair and balanced" happens to occur when you present both sides of a story and argue the facts, instead of badgering your guests who have a difference of opinion.  Your show reminds me of state-run propoganda in the Middle East, where I have lived in the past.  Unfortunately, we are seeing some of the same effects.

By the way, I am a proud and patriotic American, I’m heterosexual, I’m deeply religious, and I don’t attend parties like the one in San Francisco which you filmed.  I also don’t attack harmless people merely because they are different from me.  However, I respect that you are doing what you think is the right thing to do.  I wish you the best.
